Last weekend (23rd Nov) is laundry day, aduh sampai 4 load aku cuci, but in between the washing, aku buat Karipap Daging, and Choc Chip Mint Ice Cream.
Since dah lama tak buat karipap, my husband asked for it. Ok lah, but before i get my hand buzy with the karipap, aku try this ice cream recipe i got from one web site http://www.ice-cream-recipes.com/ . The original recipe is vanilla, but since i need something refreshing hihihi, aku tukar jadi mint ice cream, ada plak balance choc chip aku tabur la skit...tak mo banyak sangat.
Recipe for Choc Chip Mint Ice Cream
4 cups heavy cream
8 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp of mint essense
Choc chip as many as you want it.
In a heavy base pan, scald the cream.
In another bowl, whisk the yolks and sugar until the color turns into very pale.
Remove the cream from the heat, add mint essence and a few drops of green color (optional). Remember not to boil the cream.
Add the yolk mixture and put it back on low heat, keep stirring until it's thick and easily coat the back of your metal spoon.
Refrigerate, and whisk every one hour to get a smooth ice cream texture. Put the choc chip on the second or third whisk, once the ice cream started to harden.
